Set Intersection Operator

The set intersection operation is denoted using the cap symbol. The intersection of two sets returns all of the elements common to both sets. For example, the intersection of the two sets and is shown below.

In this example, since both sets share the and element, the resulting set contains the two elements. Visually, the intersection operator can be represented as the intersection of spaces in a venn-diagram.
