This example demonstrates how to construct a hexagon using a straight edge and ruler.
Start by drawing a circle whose diameter is equal to the size of the hexagon you want to draw. Place a point at the center of the circle and at the endpoints of the diameter.
Using the compass place the point on the point along the edge of the circle and draw an arc from the center of the circle outwards. Draw a point at the two places of intersection along the perimeter of the circle. Then connect the first three points together with straight lines.
Repeat this same process from the other side of the circle drawing an arc outwards from the center point. Draw a point at the two places of intersection and connect all of the points along the perimeter of the circle to finish constructing the hexagon.
We have finished constructing the hexagon.
