This example demonstrates how to construct a hexagon using a straight edge and ruler.
- Start by drawing a circle whose diameter is equal to the size of the hexagon you want to draw. Place a point at a center of the circle and at the end points of the diameter.
- Using the compass place the point on the point along the edge of the circle and draw and arc from the center of the circle outwards. Draw a point at the two places of intersection along the perimeter of the circle. Then connect the first three points together with straight lines.
- Repeat this same process from the other side of the circle drawing an arc outwards from the center point. Draw a point at the two places of intersection and connect all of the points along the perimeter of the circle to finish constructing the hexagon.
- We have finished constructing the hexagon.
