Counting

Counting is the process of calculating the quantity of a group of objects. In math, quantity is represented using a number formed by the ten digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. This notation is called base ten.

Quantity

Each of the ten base digits are associated with a quantity. As one counts a quantity of items the digits follow a pattern.
